131 bodies exhumed in the liberated territory of Donetsk region
Exhumation of the dead bodies continues in the liberated settlements of Donetsk region. Investigators discovered the burial places of both civilians and soldiers.
According to Ukrinform news agency, this was reported by Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of Donetsk Regional Military Administration.
131 bodies have been discovered thus far, however this number is preliminary.
“The bodies are exhumed now at the two main burial sites, 131 bodies have been exhumed, but … there are mass graves where the bodies were buried in trenches and there are individual graves found in yards. Therefore, this number is not final, it keeps growing, unfortunately,” the head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration said.
Investigators conduct examinations and investigate the facts of the discovery of torture chambers in the territory of Sviatohirsk and Lyman communities.
Law enforcement officers are investigating the circumstances and causes of death of both military personnel and civilians.
As previously reported, the second group of Dutch investigators will come to Ukraine to investigate war crimes committed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
In particular, experts will work in places of mass burials. Their task is to gather information for the International Criminal Court to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Polish and French experts are also working in Ukraine.
