Artillery of the Defense Forces of Ukraine destroyed three “Grad” MLRS.

A video with the operation was published by the Command of the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The National Guard of Ukraine artillerists struck the invaders with М777 towed howitzers.

While conducting reconnaissance in the Sievierodonetsk direction, SOF found several BM-21 “Grad” MLRS in the enemy’s rear.

“These are the artillery systems used to shell Sievierodonetsk, other towns, and positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine,” the statement said.

Having identified the exact coordinates of Russian multiple rocket launchers, UAV operators transmitted this data to the artillerymen of the National Guard of Ukraine.

“Our colleagues destroyed 3 out of 4 enemy MLRS. Another Grad was damaged as a result of the shelling. The artillerymen got help from the SOF spotters,” the Special Forces emphasised.

The BM-21 Grad is a self-propelled 122 mm multiple rocket launcher. It was designed in the Soviet Union and produced with Ural-375 truck chassis.

The system is designed to neutralise manpower and military equipment at a maximum distance of up to 40 km.

Recently, Russia’s invasion forces destroyed a road bridge connecting Sievierodonetsk and Lysychansk.

“The Russians use all forces to cut off Sievierodonetsk. The next two to three days will be indicative of the outcome,” said Serhiy Haidai, the Head of the Luhansk Regional Administration, on June 12.

The third and the last overpass to the city remains under massive artillery fire.
