A hundred kamikaze drones were delivered to the Bakhmut direction

One hundred kamikaze drones were sent to the Ukrainian military operating in the Bakhmut direction.

Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation, reported on this on his social media pages.

He also published a photo capturing drones being handed over to Ukrainian defenders.

The Minister noted that the subscribers of the Blyskavka online media raised over UAH 10.4 million for 500 kamikaze drones within two days via the UNITED24 fundraising platform.

The first batch of these drones is already on the way to the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will be received by the air reconnaissance unit soldiers.

“The first batch of “birds” is already flying to one of the air reconnaissance units of the 59th Brigade. They will help the soldiers quickly deliver “gifts” to the Russians. Thanks to the partners and everyone who supports the “Army of Drones” project,” Fedorov wrote.

These are the FPV (First Person View) drones. They are used as guided loitering munition to destroy armored vehicles, manpower, and other military objects of the enemy. The operator controls the aircraft in “real-time” mode while remaining at a safe distance.

Previously, three first strike companies of unmanned aerial vehicles have been created within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The military received Ukrainian-made pickup trucks, drones, ammunition for them, and Starlink stations. The private donors purchased the equipment for these strike companies.

The project to create a strike company of unmanned aerial vehicles was developed with the participation of the General Staff, SSSCIP, the Ministry of Defense, and the UNITED24 foundation.

General Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, approved the creation of UAV strike companies as part of the Defense Forces. Their creation is happening within the “Army of Drones” project.

The project is distinguished by a completely new approach to the management, training, and doctrine of drone use.
