One of the Russian missiles fired at Ukraine fell on a village in the Voronezh region.

Russian media and local authorities reported on this.

Local residents published videos of damaged houses online.

A Russian Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missile, launched at the territory of Ukraine on the morning of January 2, probably fell on the village of Petropavlovka and, for some reason, did not reach the border.

According to local residents, the missile fell at 8:38 a.m. local time and exploded.

Subsequently, the governor of the Voronezh region, Gusev, confirmed that the missile had fallen in the Ostrohozk district.

He called it an “emergency munition release” without specifying what it was.

According to him, there were allegedly no casualties, but the destruction was recorded in seven households. Glazing, roofing, and load-bearing structures may be damaged.

In March of last year, a missile of the Russian air defense forces fell on residential buildings in the city of Kireyevsk, Tula region of Russia.

Afterward, the residents discovered a crater in the residential area. The buildings were damaged as well, and many residents had their windows blown out.

The wreckage discovered at the crater site resembled a part of an anti-aircraft missile, likely from the S-300 system.
