A stable connection with the Ukrainian satellite Sich-2-30 has been set on.

The state of the Ukrainian satellite was reported by the People’s Deputy , member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Education, Science and Innovation Roman Hryshchuk.

According to the People’s Deputy, the US space agency has information about identifying the Ukrainian satellite Sich-2-30, which means they have established a permanent connection with it.

“This means that a permanent connection (or a series of them) with the satellite took place, thanks to many days of efforts by specialists from the National Center for Control and Testing of Space Vehicles …, as a result of which it was possible to identify it as one of the space objects, which until then had only a conventional name,” Roman Grischuk announced this on his page in Facebook.

In the catalog, this is the space object 51030 with the preliminary name Object AY. Now it is already displayed on the visualization as Sich-2-30 (Sich-2-1).

The deputy added that flight and design tests of the Sich-2-1 Earth remote sensing satellite are underway, which should be completed in mid-March.

Last month it became known that the Ukrainian Earth remote sensing satellite is operating in energy saving mode. The transition to this mode took place independently by a spacecraft to regulate the energy balance of systems on board.

The Sich-2-30 Ukrainian satellite for remote sensing of the Earth was launched into the estimated orbit on January 13 at 18:51:58 Kyiv time as a result of a cluster launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle.

After the separation of the spacecraft, communication was established with it and telemetry information was received that confirmed the operability of the on-board equipment.

However, a number of external factors related to the peculiarities of cluster launch did not allow establishing a stable connection with the spacecraft during the critical first sessions and ensuring the timely construction of its regular orientation.

The engineering solutions and operation algorithms laid down at the stage of the development and creation of the spacecraft allowed Sich-2-1 to conduct an independent reboot and restore its operability in an energy-saving mode.
