Armored Vehicle Coalition for Ukraine launched in Poland

The armored vehicles coalition, which aims to support the capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has started its work in Poland.

The first meeting took place on March 26 in Warsaw.

During the meeting, representatives of the participating countries developed a common position on reinforcing the Armed Forces of Ukraine with certain types of armored vehicles and organizing a system for their repairs.

Poland and Germany launched the coalition, and the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Italy agreed to participate.

“The Armored Vehicle Coalition aims to strengthen the armored shield of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, to jointly enhance the capabilities of our army in the fight against the Russian aggressor, to ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and weapons provided to us by our allies,” Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Havryliuk, who heads the Ukrainian delegation, said.

Four associations have been created within the Armored Vehicle Coalition, each with a Ukrainian representative.

Each association has certain tasks:

• supply of weapons and ammunition for Western armored vehicles;
• their maintenance and repair;
• training of crews and technical personnel;
• practicing effective tactics for the use of armored vehicles on the battlefield.

“This is a very important initiative of our allies in view of the existing problems in the Armed Forces with the repair of foreign-made armored vehicles,” Havryliuk noted.

The Deputy Defense Minister expressed hope that Ukraine, together with its partners, will be able to create an effective repair base for Western armored vehicles as soon as possible.

The new coalition will develop a roadmap that will be in line with the development strategy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

It is expected that in the long term, the member countries of the Tank Coalition and the Armored Vehicle Coalition will help create the future armored vehicle fleet of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and establish an innovative industrial partnership with Ukraine.
