Australia will be sending MRAP Bushmaster PMV to Ukraine

Australia has announced its intention to hand over the Bushmaster PMV armored vehicles to Ukraine.

Militarnyi reports about it with reference to Scott Morrison, Australian Prime Minister, cited by ABC.

Australia will send the armored Bushmaster vehicles to Ukraine after President Volodymyr Zelenskyi had specifically asked for them while appealing to the Australian parliament on March 31, 2022 asking for more help in Ukrainian war against russia.

The Australian Prime Minister shared with the reporters that the vehicles will be flown over with the Boeing C-17 Globemaster transport planes.

“We’re not just sending our prayers, we are sending our guns, we’re sending our munitions, we’re sending our humanitarian aid, our body armor,” said the Australian prime minister.

The Bushmaster protective mobility vehicle is an Australian MRAP produced by Thales Australia.

Bushmaster is designed and built to protect up to 10 soldiers, and combines the high levels of blast and ballistic protection with excellent off-road mobility.

Australia has a fleet of over 1,000 such MRAPs.

Its mass production was launched in 2005.

A maximum of 4 such armored vehicles can be placed inside the C-17 aircraft at the same time.
