Baykar delivers Bayraktar TB2 UAV to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine
On the occasion of Ukrainian Independence Day, the Turkish company Baykar donated a Bayraktar TB2 drone to the Ukrainian intelligence.
The press service of the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported on this.
On August 24, the manufacturer of the well-known Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system donated one unmanned aircraft to the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
“A new weapon that will help destroy the enemy and defend our freedom and independence is the best gift for the occasion,” the Defence Intelligence stated.
This is not the first such contribution. On January 25, Baykar also handed over two Bayraktar TB2 drones to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.
Presumably, the new drone will be deployed on the basis of the existing Bayraktar TB2, which the Come Back Alive Foundation previously purchased for the Defence Intelligence.
For the first time in history, the Come Back Alive Foundation implemented a project to purchase an unmanned combat aerial system consisting of three aircraft, weapons, ground stations, and all the necessary equipment. It was the first time in Ukraine that a volunteer organization provided the military with similar equipment.
The Turkish company Baykar has previously repeatedly donated such drones to Ukraine. For example, Baykar has repeatedly handed over UAVs that were to be ordered by Ukrainian and Lithuanian volunteers.

At the end of July, the Come Back Alive Foundation reported on the effectiveness of the purchased Bayraktar TB2 drones.
Over the course of the war, the system, in particular, adjusted the fire of HIMARS rocket systems at enemy targets and conducted reconnaissance during offensive operations in the Kharkiv region and during the liberation of Kherson.
The drones of the system also destroyed with their own weapons:
- about 80 people of the enemy’s manpower;
- 28 units of enemy military vehicles;
- 8 armored fighting vehicles;
- 7 tanks;
- 4 Grad MLRS;
- one 2S7 Pion;
- one antenna system.
In September 2022, the Foundation published a video featuring the operation of Ukrainian Bayraktar TB2 drones in the Kherson region.
