Biden specified assistance for Ukraine from allies: almost 2,000 tanks and other equipment
The United States and its allies have provided hundreds of military equipment items since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Biden shared this at a press conference in the White House following the negotiations with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, European Pravda reports.
The list includes armored vehicles, artillery, air defense systems, and other weapons and ammunition.
“We have provided a steady flow of weapons, including anti-aircraft defense systems, artillery weapons, and more. And we didn’t do it alone.
From the very beginning, the United States has called on allies around the world to help Ukraine and impose unprecedented — and I emphasize that word — sanctions and export controls, making it more difficult for the Kremlin to wage this brutal war,” Biden said.
According to the U.S. President, more than fifty countries have pledged to provide Ukraine with heavy armored vehicles, artillery, and a large amount of ammunition.
“More than 50 states have pledged to transfer almost 2,000 units of tanks and other military equipment, over 800 artillery systems, over two million artillery shells, and more than 50 modern rocket launchers…
Together, we provided billions of dollars in financial support so that the government of Ukraine could continue to provide services,” Biden added.
As previously reported, on Wednesday, the United States announced a new $1.85 billion military aid package for Ukraine.
The new assistance package will include, in particular, one Patriot air defense battery and related munitions. It will also include armored vehicles, artillery, and mortar rounds, along with aerial munitions for hitting ground targets.
In total, the United States has now committed over $21.9 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the Joe Biden Administration has been in office.
