Budanov: Russia receives 148 KN-23 ballistic missiles from the DPRK
In 2024, Russia received 148 KN-23 ballistic missiles from North Korea (DPRK), which are actively used to strike the territory of Ukraine.
Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, shared this with The War Zone.
According to him, it is also expected that Pyongyang will transfer another 150 such missiles to Moscow this year.
Russia uses KN-23 to strike Ukraine, launching them from the Kursk and Bryansk regions.
North Korean military experts are helping the Russians use these tactical missile systems.

In December, in an interview with Radio Svoboda, Andrii Cherniak, representative of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, reported that as of that time, the Russian army had used about 60 North Korean KN-23 missiles against Ukraine.
He noted their low accuracy but emphasized that these missiles also pose a very serious danger.
“We have information that Russia has used about 60 North Korean missiles against Ukraine. Their accuracy, in principle, is not very high,” said the DIU representative.
In early January 2024, National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby announced the first use of the KN-23 to strike Ukraine.
He said that Russia used these missiles to strike Zaporizhzhia on December 29, 2023, and Kharkiv on January 2, 2024.

The specialists of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine have found a significant number of Western components in ballistic missiles.
Due to Russia’s active use of missiles, experts were able to collect a significant portion of the surviving components, which indicates that most of them are parts manufactured by companies from the United States, Europe, and Asia.
