Bulgaria finally ratified the agreement on the provision of military assistance to Ukraine.

This was announced by Boyko Borisov, Bulgarian statesman and politician.

The Bulgarian Parliament supported in the second and final reading the agreement between Bulgaria and Ukraine on the supply of weapons, equipment and ammunition.

166 MPs voted for the initiative, instead 48 voted against it.

“Today, the 48 National Assembly on the initiative of the GERB-SDS finally ratified the agreement on the provision of military assistance to Ukraine. Thus, Bulgaria has become part of the civilized democratic Western world, which supports the Ukrainian people, who fell victim to Russian aggression,” said Boyko Borisov.

Last week, deputies voted to approve the list of weapons that will be transferred to Ukraine.

In early December, it became known that as part of defense assistance, Bulgaria would transfer small arms and ammunition to Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defense of the country said that the list of support for Ukraine included equipment.

At the same time, the country’s authorities convinced their citizens that in general, the military assistance provided to Ukraine would not affect the combat capability of the Bulgarian army.

The Ministry of Defense of Bulgaria also said that the type and amount of military assistance was discussed with Ukraine.

It is worth noting that the final list of defense assistance from Bulgaria is classified.

Bulgaria also agreed to participate in the EUMAM UA, European Union mission to train the Ukrainian military.
