Caesar 155-mm self-propelled howitzers are already at the forefront of fighting the Russian invaders.

Valerii Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, reports about this.

The servicemen released the pictures featuring the crews using the foreign Caesar self-propelled howitzers on a wheeled chassis provided to Ukraine, which are already in use at the front line.

French CAESAR 155-mm wheeled self-propelled howitzers are being used to destroy the Russian invaders.

“Our artillerymen have quickly mastered the new self-propelled guns, in fact, in just 2 to 3 hours.

I am sincerely grateful to our partners for their assistance! It contributes to bringing our Victory closer,” Valerii Zaluzhnyi said.

As per Commander-in-Chief, Caesar is a new generation self-propelled howitzer. It can hit the enemy at a distance from the front line of 20 km or more with high accuracy. Russian artillery, reserves, and control points are stationed at this distance. Their destruction reduces the invader’s offensive potential.

Previously, the video released on social media captured the fact that the French CAESAR 155-mm wheeled self-propelled howitzers are already on the territory of Ukraine and are being used against the enemy.

The transfer of CAESAR ACS from France to Ukraine was announced on April 22, 2022. In an interview, French President Emanuel Macron mentioned that the supplies for Ukraine include a variety of weapons “from Milan (Milan ATGM – ed.) to Caesar”, and the plan was to continue doing so in the future.

The French media suggested that a division of these ACS (12 units) would be delivered. Ukrainian servicemen were trained to use them in France.

CAESAR is a French 155-mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer developed by the GIAT Industries. Its serial production was launched in 2007. 72 units of it were delivered to the French army.

The barrel length is 52 calibers. It is carrying 18 rounds of ammunition. The rate of fire is 6 shots per minute. Caesar is able to use the full range of NATO 155-mm artillery shells. The Renault Sherpa 5 6×6 is used as the French army ACS chassis.
