Ukraine will be getting advanced armored vehicles and Bayraktar TB2 drone cameras from Canada.

CBC reported about this.

At the conclusion of the NATO leaders summit in Madrid, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that Canada is working on finalizing a deal to provide Ukraine with 39 armored combat support vehicles (ACSVs).

The vehicles had been destined for the Canadian Army and were in the process of being delivered, but instead will be diverted to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The additional armored vehicles will arrive as part of military and technical assistance which is necessary to fight against the Russian invasion forces.

“The light armored vehicles we will be sending over will be extremely effective. We’re just glad to help and we’re going to continue to look and respond to things that they (Ukraine – Ed.) need,” Trudeau told reporters.

In addition, Canada will provide an additional six high-resolution cameras for use on the Turkish-built Bayraktar drones, which are ordered by Ukraine and manufactured in Turkey.

The armored personnel carriers are expected to be in service with Ukrainian troops this summer after the Ukrainian servicemen undergo the necessary training.

The deal to provide the armored support vehicles, which are meant exclusively for troop transport, to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will include the maintenance, and in-service package. This will be provided by the General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada manufacturer.

The Canadian Army has ordered 360 armored combat support vehicles (ACSVs) in eight modifications as part of a $3 billion contract. The armored vehicle is equipped with a new generation suspension system and an improved power plant.

The protective capacity of the ACSV armored personnel carrier is improved due to the double V-shaped bottom of the hull and special seat fasteners, which together increase resistance to detonation by mines and improvised explosive devices by absorbing the energy of the explosion. The vehicle is capable of moving at a speed of more than 100 km, with a range of 600 km by one fuelling.

As previously reported, Canada will be providing Ukraine with spare barrels for the M777 howitzers, which were previously handed over by the Western partners to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for defense against Russian aggression.
