Cherkasy region purchases Turkish KTH1 Komando mortars for the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Cherkasy Regional Military Administration transferred Turkish KTH1 Komando mortars to the military.
Ihor Taburets, Head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, reported that the batch of mortars was distributed among several units.
The published photos show that some of the mortars have been transferred to the 3rd Assault Brigade.
“We received another tranche of reinforcement from Cherkasy region. This time it is mortars. For several units at once. It was a task with an asterisk. Thanks to our friends and partners, it has been solved,” Ihor Taburets shared.
Turkish Komando Tipi Havan (KTH1) mortars are offered by Savunma. These front-edge lightweight mortars are manufactured in 60mm caliber.
The 60mm Komando Tipi Havan mortar provides close-range support, allowing the soldier to make quick and effective shots due to its lightweight and easy installation.
The mortar allows rapid fire at targets at a distance of 100 to 1800 meters.
“Unlike its analogs, it provides more accurate targeting day and night,” the developers state.
Declared specifications of KTH1:
- Range: 100 meters to 1800 meters
- Weight: 7.8 kg
- Rate of fire: 10-15 shots per minute
The mortar provides destruction or suppression of enemy manpower and firepower located in the open, in trenches, trenches, on reverse slopes, in streams, gorges, etc.
The mortar fires 60-mm mortar rounds with a fragmentation mine. The lightweight of the KTH1 makes it possible to transport it by any type of vehicle and carry it in a backpack.
In 2023, the Ukrainian servicemen were also seen using 40-mm RDS40-MGL grenade launchers made in Turkey.
