Ukraine has announced a competition for a drone that will be able to land on Red Square in Moscow on May 9.

The competition was announced by the co-founder of monobank and developer of the Dovbush drone Volodymyr Yatsenko.

The offer is open for developers of Ukrainian drones with a prize fund of 20 million hryvnias.

“So, I am officially awarding a prize to a Ukrainian UAV manufacturer, whose aircraft, with the help of the military, of course, will fly and land on Red Square in Moscow on May 9,” Yatsenko wrote on social media.

According to the organizer of the contest, the prize amount is currently 20,000,000 hryvnias.

“I hope that this amount will be fairly divided between the manufacturer and the military operators who will successfully complete the task, and will be directed to the improvement of the UAV,” Volodymyr Yatsenko said.

He also added that a Ukrainian slogan had to be indicated on the wings of the drone that would fly to Red Square, for example, “Glory to Ukraine”, “Glory to Heroes”, etc.

According to Yatsenko, this is necessary to understand which drone of which manufacturer has reached the destination and which has failed.

The Dovbush drone will also perform the flight to the capital of the aggressor country, but outside the competition.

As previously reported, at the end of February, Russia announced the fall of an allegedly Ukrainian drone in the suburbs of Moscow. Photos capturing that alleged drone were also released on social media of the aggressor country.

The invaders speculated that the drone might have lost altitude due to the engine running out of fuel or hitting trees and damaging the wing.

In January, the Russians began installing air defense systems on buildings in the center of Moscow. The massive deployment of air defense systems may be a response to the potential threat of strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles on strategic objects deep in the territory of the Russian Federation.
