Croatian Mi-8s are already in Ukraine
Croatia transferred Mi-8 transport helicopters to Ukraine as part of military aid.
A photo capturing one of the aircraft was published on the UkrAirForce Telegram channel.
It is reported that the helicopters were delivered to Ukraine in May.
The transfer of transport Mi-8s from Croatia was announced back in November of last year, but no details were provided at that time.
The country had transferred 14 helicopters: twelve Mi-8MTV-1 and two Mi-8T, which were withdrawn from the Armed Forces of Croatia.
In May, nine helicopters arrived in Ukraine, and another five were partially disassembled and transported by land transport.
At the end of February this year, it was reported that Croatia was completing the preparation of Mi-8 helicopters for transfer to Ukraine.
The operation to send them to Ukraine should have begun in March.
All 14 helicopters were first supposed to arrive in Poland, from where they were planned to be transported to Ukraine.
The country’s Prime Minister Plenković confirmed the transfer of these transport helicopters last November.
Croatian helicopters have strengthened the aviation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which is actively participating in combat operations against the Russian invaders and performing other tasks.
Mi-8 can carry out landings from the air, transport personnel, evacuate the wounded, and supply the troops with ammunition and other means.
