Ukrainian defense forces liberated the village of Urozhaine in the south of Ukraine.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Maliar announced this on her social media pages.

“Urozhaine has been liberated. Our defenders are entrenching their positions, and the offensive continues,” the statement reads.

The settlement is located in the Volnovakha district of the Donetsk region. It is located in one of the two main attack directions of Ukrainian troops liberating the south of Ukraine from the Russian invaders.

For a long time, fierce battles with the invaders had been ongoing for this settlement. On August 9, Maliar confirmed that Ukrainian forces had advanced in the direction of Urozhaine.

Ukrainian aviation and precision aerial munitions were actively used in the village to knock out the fortified defenses occupied by the 37th Separate Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces.

Recently, artillery destroyed a significant number of manpower and ammunition depots in the village.

Russian units of the 247th Guards Air Assault Regiment and the 60th Independent Motor Rifle Brigade are also stationed in the area of the village.

On July 27, the Ukrainian Defense Forces liberated the settlement of Staromaiorske (Donetsk region) from the Russian invaders, which is less than a kilometer west of Urozhaine.

It is known that soldiers of the 35th Separate Marine Brigade and units of the Territorial Defense Forces are working in this area. There are also reports about the work of the SOF units.
