Drones attacked the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant
Drones hit the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant in the Russian city of Lipetsk.
Russian media started to share information and details about the attack.
According to Russian media, the plant was attacked around 2 a.m. on June 28, 2024.
A total of seven drones were reported to have hit targets on the plant’s territory.
According to media reports, one of the drones damaged the oxygen separation unit, and four other attack drones allegedly hit the building of the oxygen station.
A garage on the plant’s territory was also damaged. No injuries or deaths have been reported so far.
It should be noted that this is not the first attack on the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant, which is Russia’s largest steel plant in terms of production and the 17th largest in the world.
In February 2024, Lipetsk Region Governor Igor Artamonov reported an outbreak “in one of the shops” of the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant.
Initially, officials reported that the fire was started by factory workers but then started to claim that the fire was caused by the crash of two downed drones.
At the same time, at night, residents of the region reported hearing explosions near Lipetsk from the direction of a metallurgical plant, preceded by the drone hum in the sky.
Militarnyi previously reported that a drone attacked an oil depot in the Tambov region of Russia, causing a fire.
The incident occurred in the early morning of June 28, 2024, and city officials said it resulted in a “small fire” that was quickly localized with the help of 11 fire crews.
