Engineers are setting up positions using underground modules

The engineering divisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are setting up fortified positions with the help of underground metal modules.

The Ukrainian military is making winter preparations at frontline positions practically around the clock.

Engineering teams are actively working to provide the reliable and competent setup of fortified positions, ArmiyaInform reports.

Metal modular structures are deployed on the second line of defense.

For this, they are brought into already prepared trenches using special equipment.

“It is difficult to install such modules on the front line of defense. The enemy will not allow engineering equipment to be used. Therefore, on the front line, Ukrainian soldiers dig into the ground as deeply as possible, fortify well, insulate dugouts, and skillfully disguise themselves,” the article noted.

Up to 6 servicemen can stay in one such modular block as they are specially equipped for greater comfort of the military. It is equipped with a potbelly stove for heating and beds for personnel.

These mobile units will help Ukrainian soldiers rest in a warm and safe place between combat shifts on the front line.

“The module is well-protected and compact. It is placed into a pre-prepared trench and covered with soil in several layers with a wooden bar between them. In the event of even a close hit by an enemy projectile, this design will protect our soldiers from threats,” said one of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Depending on the situation, an engineering group needs several days to install one mobile unit.

“We are working on both the stairs and the water drainage system so that there are no problems on rainy days,” the serviceman shared.

Previously, the soldiers of the 95th Air Assault Brigade received such special metal shelters and immediately started equipping their positions with these modules.
