France has handed over three bridges to Ukraine to restore transport connections in the Chernihiv region.

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine reported about this.

The French Crisis and Support Centre CDCS presented the State Agency of Automobile Roads of Ukraine (“Ukravtodor”) with three crossings that had already arrived in Ukraine.

“The bridges provided by France will be used to improve the mobility of the population in the Chernihiv region,” the statement reads.

It is planned to install on those road sections on which the humanitarian situation in the region is critically dependent.

The ministry emphasizes that it is working with international partners to increase the number of such bridges for installation in the de-occupied regions.

European partners ordered constructions from the company Matière, which produced them according to the parameters required by Ukraine.

It is emphasized that these three bridges, 68, 34.2, and 23 meters long, will help to ensure the continuous safe movement of vehicles on the main state roads of the Chernihiv region as soon as possible.

“The acquisition of the French bridges was the result of fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Crisis and Support Centre (CDCS) and the Matière company,” the statement emphasized.

As previously reported, in the Kharkiv region, prefabricated bridges, handed over to Ukraine by partner countries, are being installed. The Ministry of Infrastructure released a photo featuring foreign prefab bridges being used. In September, it became known that temporary bridges were being brought to the Kharkiv region from the Czech Republic and France.

“Bridges and structures are humanitarian aid to Ukraine, to quickly restore the infrastructure destroyed by Russia,” said Andrii Ivko, deputy head of Ukravtodor.

The structures are temporary, over time they will be replaced by permanent ones.
