Great Britain will deliver a new batch of weapons to Ukraine in the coming weeks.

It will include various means of air defense, such as anti-aircraft guns and short-range air defense missiles.

This was stated by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in a telephone conversation with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on December 9.

The leaders of the countries discussed the fresh wave of Russian attacks on critical national infrastructure in Ukraine, and President Zelensky thanked the United Kingdom for its crucial support to help restore power through the supply of generators.

Sunak paid tribute to the success of Ukraine’s Armed Forces in intercepting dozens of Russian potentially devastating cruise missiles this week.

“Updating on the latest lethal aid deliveries from the UK, the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that more anti-air guns and further short range air defence missiles would arrive in Ukraine in the coming weeks,” the British Prime Minister’s office said in a statement.

The types of weapons that Ukraine will receive to strengthen air defense have not yet been disclosed.

This may regard anti-aircraft defense systems, the transfer of which was announced by the British Prime Minister during his visit to Kyiv in November.

At that time, it was said that Ukraine would receive 125 anti-aircraft air defense systems, as well as the equipment to counter Iranian drones, including dozens of radars and electronic warfare systems against drones.

In early November, it became known that the UK had provided Ukraine with about 1,000 surface-to-air missiles.

This is in response to Ukraine’s requests for additional air defense systems to protect critical infrastructure.

Britain is expanding training programs for the Ukrainian military and will train military medics and military engineers. In addition, the United Kingdom is providing winter equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
