During the international defense forum in Slovakia, the Minister of Defense of Slovakia, Jaroslav Nad’, stated that the Ukrainian military is undergoing training in Hungary.

The Slovak media Parameter reported about this.

“Hungarians also help – the fact that you do not know about it and there is propaganda that they do not help – is one thing. But did you know that Ukrainian soldiers are trained on their territory? Maybe you don’t even know about it,” Nad’ said.

After this statement, the Hungarian media 24.hu sent a request to the Ministry of Defense of the country with a request to comment on the information.

The Ministry of Defense official confirmed that his department is involved in “training of military medical personnel.”

“Hungary’s position has not changed: we are on the side of peace and do not support any steps that lead to the escalation of the war, therefore we do not send weapons and troops to Ukraine.

However, as a neighboring country, within the framework of the largest humanitarian action in the history of Hungary, Hungary helps those who are in trouble and those who need help. That is why we help in the hospitalization of wounded Ukrainian soldiers. Also, the Armed Forces of Hungary participate in the training of Ukrainian military medics for humanitarian purposes,” the Ministry of Defense of Hungary replied.

As previously reported, since the beginning of the invasion, Hungary has repeatedly stated that it will not provide weapons to Ukraine in order not to become a party to the conflict with Russia.

In July, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary also stated that Budapest will begin to pass through its territory all aid provided by other countries to Ukraine, including military aid.

Hungary also accepts Ukrainian children and refugees. The country offers assistance in the treatment of civilians and military personnel in its medical facilities.
