Iran officially stated that it did not supply Russia with drones to be used in Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports about this.

Nasser Kanaani, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, made this statement.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran considers the released information about the delivery of Iranian drones to Russia to be used in the Ukraine conflict unfounded and does not confirm this information,” Kanaani said.

According to him, Iran firmly takes the position of neutrality and non-interference.

“From the very beginning of the conflict, we have always stated our principled and clear position of active neutrality and opposition to the war, emphasizing the need to achieve a political solution without violence,” the spokesman emphasized.

In late August, the United States announced that Russia had received a large batch of weapons-capable Iranian drones that will likely be deployed on the battlefield in Ukraine.

The first use of Iranian drones in the Kharkiv region was reported on September 13. A visual analysis of the drone’s wing elements indicates that the Russians are using the Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drone, which was designated “Geran-2” in Russia.

The air defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is actively studying and gaining real experience in destroying these drones, which are being used by the Russian invaders to target ground objects.

Also, on September 23, the air defense of Ukraine neutralized the Iranian “Mohajer-6” drone for the first time. Subsequently, the Ukrainian military demonstrated this captured modern Iranian strike UAV. The drone is designed to conduct reconnaissance, surveillance, and strikes.
