Iran launched a massive missile attack on Israel with several hundred ballistic missiles.

The Israeli website Newsru reported on this.

According to the media, about 200 missiles were used in the attack, while Iran claims to have used 400 missiles. The central, southern, and eastern parts of the country were appeared under attack.

Newsru cites the Magen David Adom ambulance service, which reported that several people were lightly wounded as a result of the missile strike, including two in Tel Aviv. However, information about the victims is still being clarified.

Videos of Iranian ballistic missile launches are published online.

Locals are sharing videos of numerous missile impacts. The footage also shows air defense systems intercepting some of the missiles, but the rest overwhelm the defenses and reach their targets. The video was reportedly recorded near a military airfield in the southern part of the country.

The recovered missile fragments, identifiable by their characteristic tail fins, indicate that at least some of the missiles used in today’s strike were Fatteh-1 missiles.

These ballistic missiles have a range of up to 1400 km, and a separating warhead weighs about 400 kg. It is stated that the missile can reach speeds of up to Mach 15.

This was Iran’s second massive direct attack on Israel in 2024.

The previous attack was carried out on the night of April 13-14, 2024. Then Iran launched a massive combined air strike against Israel. It was announced that about 500 attack drones and missiles of various types were used in Israel.

The Israeli military announced the interception of more than 300 air targets outside the country’s territory, including attack drones, ballistic and cruise missiles.

Overall, the Israeli Defense Ministry reported intercepting 99% of the targets, although some missiles and drones still managed to overcome Israeli air defense and cause minor damage to infrastructure.
