Israel will not provide Ukraine with weapons, but will help with the alert system – The Times of Israel
The Ministers of Defense of Ukraine and Israel have held telephone talks regarding the support of the Defense Forces of Ukraine in the war against Russia.
The Times of Israel reported about this.
Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz promised to support Ukraine, but noted that due to “operational restrictions” the country cannot transfer weapons to Kyiv.
However, the defense ministries of both countries will work out the transfer of civilian alert systems.
Besides, Israel will continue to supply Ukraine with humanitarian aid and protection for the military.
As previously reported, last week the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine appealed to Israel to provide Ukraine with air defense systems.
Kyiv made a decision to address such a letter after the active use of Iranian kamikaze drones by the Russian Federation. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dmytro Kuleba, Iran’s actions should have prompted Israel to step up its aid.
Subsequently, Kuleba held talks with Prime Minister of Israel Yair Lapid. They discussed possible assistance to Ukraine, but the results of the negotiations were not disclosed.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine emphasized that during the dialogue the provision of air defense systems was also on the agenda.
