Kharkiv aircraft repairmen handed over two An-74s to customers

Kharkiv State Aircraft Manufacturing Company has completed the repair of two An-74 aircraft.

The press service of the enterprise informs.

One aircraft was repaired in the interests of a foreign customer, and the other for the Ukrainian Motor Sich Airlines.

Yesterday and today (February 9 and 10) from the airfield of Kharkiv air plant planes Аn-74 went to customers.

The foreign customer’s aircraft arrived for technical maintenance last November.

Specialists of three airline workshops worked on the order: the final assembly workshop №5, electroplating workshop, paint and chemical treatment №10 and aircraft technical maintenance workshop №75.

All scheduled repairs, approved by a special program, were performed on the aircraft. At the beginning of this year, reference checks of all aircraft systems were carried out.

The second aircraft – An-74TK-200 – is a civilian aircraft with the property of conversion into passenger or cargo.

The An-74 aircraft of Motor Sich Airlines received a “glass cockpit” and as part of the modernization, digital ones have already replaced some of the analog devices.

Recall that in October this year we wrote about the intentions of the Kharkiv State Aircraft Manufacturing Company to carry out independently import substitutions of Russian components to Аn-74 aircraft.

The contest for the position of chief designer has already been announced. The task of chief designer will just be the organization of this process.

According to the CEO, it takes about three years to replace Russian spare parts. Also, on multi-purpose An-72/74 aircraft, they propose replacing the auxiliary engine TA-12 from the Russian Federation with a domestic AІ-450.
