Kuleba calls on international partners to speed up weapons provision for Ukraine

Dmytro Kuleba, Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs has called on international partners to speed up the weapons and ammunition deliveries for Ukraine.

He made this statement on his Twitter page.

Kuleba stressed that it is too early to conclude that Ukraine already has all the weapons it needs.

He also noted that the battle for Donbas is the largest one on European soil since WWII.

“Too early to conclude that Ukraine already has all the arms it needs. Russian offensive in the Donbas is a ruthless battle, the largest one on European soil since WWII. I urge partners to speed up deliveries of weapons and ammunition, especially MLRS, long-range artillery, APCs,” he wrote.

As previously reported, a virtual meeting of the Defense Ministers of the Contact Group about Ukraine took place on May 23.

The latest meeting was split into three sessions. They were related to the current situation in Ukraine, the transfer of weapons, and priority needs.

As a result of these negotiations, Denmark will be handing over to Ukraine the Harpoon anti-ship missiles and launchers for them.

Italy, Greece, Norway, and Poland will provide the artillery systems. The types of systems have not yet been revealed.

It was also announced that the third meeting of Defense Ministers will take place in mid-June in Brussels.

Prior to these discussions, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that Ukraine needs modern multiple rocket launchers.
