Lviv region hands over 450 FPV drones to Ukrainian Defense Forces
The Lviv Regional Military Administration donated 450 FPV drones to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Lviv Regional Military Administration reported about this on its official website.
The transfer took place within the framework of the Birds of Victory project, and the funds for the purchase were raised during a charity auction.
Although this is not a very large batch, the Lviv region has already handed over more than 11,000 FPV drones as part of this project.
Soldiers of the 77th Airmobile Brigade, the 24th Mechanized Brigade, the 420th Battalion, the RAROG Battalion, the Unmanned Strike Aviation Systems Battalion “Achilles”, the 11th Border Guard Detachment, and the International Legion will receive these drones to enhance their defense capabilities.
In total, the Lviv region raised UAH 6.5 million at a charity auction, which was used to purchase the drones.
It should be noted that purchases are also made from local manufacturers who are expanding their own production to provide the Ukrainian Defense Forces with the relevant systems.
On September 26, 2024, the Lviv City Hall purchased and handed over pickup trucks, drones and batteries to soldiers of the Ukrainian Defense Forces at the expense of the community.
In particular, 2 L200 pickup trucks, 90 Mavic 3/3Pro drones and 120 drone batteries worth about UAH 9.1 million were delivered to Ukrainian defenders from various military units.
This equipment enhances the ability of units to effectively defend their positions, as the use of FPV drones and reconnaissance drones on the front line allows for lossless defense.
Militarnyi previously reported that the Ukrainian Team Foundation (Українська команда) had sent Darts attack drones to the Ukrainian military.
These loitering munitions by a Ukrainian manufacturer can fly 40-50 kilometers and travel at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour.
