Units of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are practicing offensive skills using foreign armored vehicles.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed about the ongoing mastering of new equipment.

Colonel-General Oleksandr Syrskyi, Commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, inspected the combat training of one of the units of the Ground Forces.

Ukrainian soldiers are already actively using the equipment and weapons provided by the partners.

Currently, training and mastering of new armored vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are already in service with Ukrainian infantry, is ongoing. In particular, the training is conducted to use the tracked armored personnel carriers based on the M113.

“All units are now improving their offensive skills. Only by conducting a professional and prepared attack against the Russian occupation forces, we will be able to liberate our land from the enemy. This requires a lot of continuous training. Only in this way, we will be able to save the life of a Ukrainian fighter and destroy the Russian invader,” said the Commander of the Ground Forces.

Ukrainian soldiers are currently improving tactics of combat in cities and villages, clearing living quarters, and attacking infantry under cover of armored vehicles.

Judging by the published photos, the servicemen are mastering the YPR-765 tracked armored personnel carriers, which arrived in Ukraine from the Netherlands. This armored personnel carrier is based on the American M113.

Previously, a video featuring these armored personnel carriers was released on social networks.

In early May, it was announced that the Netherlands is considering increasing its supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine. The statement was made after the conversation between Prime Minister Mark Rutte and President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

YPR-765 (PRI) is an armored personnel carrier in the basic version armed with a 12.7-mm heavy machine gun. The vehicle is based on a modified version of the M113A1 caterpillar armored personnel carrier. The YPR-765 was dismissed from the Netherlands Armed Forces service in 2012. Currently, up to 500 such armored vehicles can be in store.

The Netherlands, Italy, and Belgium agreed to transfer the additional weapons to Ukraine. This regards the American M109 self-propelled howitzers, or the German PzH – 2000s.
