The Armed Forces of Ukraine are likely to receive a more advanced version of the Bradley infantry fighting vehicle than expected.

This comes from the analysis of photos released by the U.S. Department of Defense the day before.

OSINT analyst Oliver Alexander drew attention to the external design features of those M2 Bradley vehicles that are transferred to Ukraine.

He came to the conclusion that Ukraine will not receive the M2A2 ODS, as previously expected. The US is shipping a more advanced and newer version, the M2A2 ODS-SA.

A noticeable external difference of the M2A2 ODS-SA compared to the older versions is that the driver camera is located in the front part of the body of the infantry fighting vehicle.

The M2A3 is equipped with the same camera. However, the photo of the “Ukrainian” infantry fighting vehicle shows that the newest commander’s sight is missing, which indicates that the Americans are transferring the M2A2 ODS-SA.

According to the manufacturer BAE Systems, the ODS-SA version is almost identical to the M2A3 In everything else and has most of its improvements. Namely, those related to deep “digitalization” of vehicle and fire control, along with the possibilities of integrating into a single information network of an armored group.

In addition, the manufacturer notes that the vehicle has an improved titanium roof protection.

The weight of the M2A2 ODS-SA is 34,250 kg. The vehicle is driven by a 600-horsepower engine. It can develop a speed of up to 61 km/h. The IFV is able to pass trenches up to 2.5 m wide and overcome obstacles up to 0.9 m high.

As previously reported, Ukraine should receive 109 M2 Bradley IFVs. These deliveries were announced as part of two military aid packages in 2023.
