The Ukrainian servicemen in the Kharkiv region destroyed an ammunition depot of the Russian invaders.

Volunteer Roman Donik shared this on his Facebook.

Ukrainian artillerymen destroyed the enemy using the 155-mm M777 howitzers, which the Armed Forces received from other countries for the defense against Russian aggression.

The Russian ammunition depot was destroyed in the Izyum direction of the Kharkiv region.

“The first real achievements near Izyum of the weapons supplied by the Allies. A Russian ammunition depot. Was there. A direct hit with M777”, wrote Roman Donik in his message.

According to the volunteer, upon the detonation of ammunition, up to a company of Russian invaders, seven infantry fighting vehicles, and one tank were destroyed.

It was previously reported that a unit armed with 155-mm M777 howitzers was formed as part of one of the artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The battery has the name “Skify”.

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has released a video featuring this battery operating in the combat zone.

Artillerymen demonstrated the folded howitzers. The battery uses an American M1083A1P2 tractor with an armored cab as a vehicle for towing and transporting ammunition and personnel.

Both high-explosive projectiles (M795) and high-explosive rocket-assisted ammunition (M549), which can hit targets at a distance of up to 40 km, have been spotted in the “Skify” arsenal.

М777 is a 155-mm caliber howitzer with manual loading and firing rate of up to five rounds per minute. Depending on the type of projectile used, the howitzer has a firing range from 24 to 30 kilometers. М777 can use M982 Excalibur rocket-assisted guided projectiles, which increases the range of accurate shots from М777up to 40 km.

This is its advantage over the howitzers of Soviet-era production that are used by Russia in the war against Ukraine.
