MaxxPro armored vehicles extracts trapped Ukrainian soldiers out of the semi-encirclement under artillery fire of the Russian invaders in the Pokrovsk sector.
The video of the 68th Jaeger Brigade was published by the Officer+ Telegram channel.
A group of soldiers held their stronghold, but when it became clear that they might be surrounded, armored vehicles were sent for them.
“The guys held off the enemy’s onslaught from three sides for several days, but when the situation became critical, it was decided to evacuate the personnel from their positions. The guys managed to evacuate soldiers from the positions under heavy shelling on two MaxxPro armored vehicles without any losses,” the Telegram channel reported.
The released video shows two MaxxPro MRAP armored vehicles driving fast on a field road along the landings where Ukrainian positions are located.
Under heavy artillery fire, the vehicles reached the positions and transported the Ukrainian soldiers under shelling.
It is reported that all the defenders, who had held their positions in a tactical semi-encirclement as long as they could, had been brought out alive.
The Pokrovsk sector in the Donetsk region remains one of the hottest spots where Russian invasion forces are trying to develop their offensive.
On Sunday, August 4, Ukrainian defenders repelled 30 attacks in this area. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russians concentrated their main efforts in the areas of Zhelanne and Novooleksandrivka, where almost half of the total number of battles took place.
MaxxPro
One of the most widely used Western MRAP armored vehicles in the Ukrainian Defense Forces is the American International MaxxPro by Navistar Defense. The Ukrainian military has praised this armored vehicle, noting its survivability and mobility.
The armored vehicle can withstand detonation of mines or IED under the bottom with a mass of explosive up to 7 kilograms in TNT equivalent. The armor has two layers of protection: one shatters a bullet or debris, the other stops it.
During one of the combat engagements, the armored vehicle withstood a shot from an anti-tank grenade launcher.
