Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Russian Shahed drones crash and explode in Romania
During a night attack on the Odesa region, Russian Shahed drones crashed and exploded in Romania.
Oleh Nikolenko, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced this on the morning of September 4.
He refers to the information from Ukrainian border guards.
Last night, Russians attacked the port of Izmail in the Odesa region with kamikaze drones. However, one or more of the Shahed drones exploded after crashing in Romania.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs did not specify the exact number of drones that crashed in the neighboring country.

“This is yet another confirmation that Russian missile terror poses a huge threat not only to the security of Ukraine, but also to the security of neighboring countries, including NATO member states,” Oleh Nikolenko wrote on social media.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine urged its partners to speed up the provision of additional modern missile and air defense systems, as well as combat aircraft, which will enhance the protection of Ukrainian infrastructure and neighboring states.
The Romanian Foreign Ministry said the Russian attack did not “generate direct military threats to Romania’s national territory or territorial waters.”
On the night of September 4, Russians attacked Ukraine with kamikaze drones. The massive attack was reported by the Odesa Regional Military Administration. Civilian infrastructure in the Izmail district of the Odesa region came under attack. The Ukrainian air defense managed to shoot down 17 drones.

However, warehouse and production buildings were hit, and the equipment of agricultural and industrial enterprises were damaged in two territorial communities. Preliminary, no casualties reported.
This is not the first time Russian drones have flown over Romania. For example, on the night of August 2, the invaders once again used Iranian Shahed kamikaze drones against the Ukrainian port infrastructure in the city of Izmail. Then these drones violated the airspace of Romania, which is a NATO member.
The mayor of the Romanian Cetalkoi commune in the border town of Tulcea then said that Russian drones had flown over the houses of local residents. According to eyewitnesses, UAVs entered from different directions, presumably to confuse Ukrainian air defense.
