The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has started creating assault brigades, which can be joined by volunteers.

They received the name “Offensive Guard”.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported about this with reference to the words of acting Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

These units are aimed at strengthening the Defense Forces of Ukraine and liberating the occupied territories of Ukraine from the Russian invaders.

“The decision to create assault brigades was made by our workers who have enough fury to beat the enemy.

Many of our servicemen, who defended and are still defending our country, took the initiative to recruit people into such units. Therefore, it was decided that all those who wished, who were patriots, who had lost their homes or relatives due to the war, should be united in such brigades,” Ihor Klymenko said.

According to the acting Minister of Internal Affairs, the basis of these units will be active policemen, border guards and soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine.

“First of all, these are the people who went through the crucible of 2014-2015, some of whom fought already in 2022. Some of them are wounded. The units will consist exclusively of volunteers who are driven by patriotism and there are a lot of such people in our country,” Ihor Klymenko said.

Klymenko emphasizes that the mentioned units will consist exclusively of volunteers motivated by patriotism. The training of brigade soldiers will last several months: first individually, then as part of a unit.

A person who wants to join the Offensive Guard can submit an application form on the website storm.mvs.gov.ua, or call the hotline and get information on the logistics. Another option is to fill out a questionnaire through the Administrative Service Centres.

Currently, the National Police Brigade “Rage”, the State Border Service Brigade “Steel Border” and six National Guard brigades are being staffed.

According to Klymenko, all the soldiers of these brigades will have the same benefits as military personnel and policemen.
