Ukraine is capable of producing more than three million drones per year. The country has sufficient production capabilities and cooperation with international partners.

Anna Hvozdiar, Deputy Minister for Strategic Industries and Industry of Ukraine, said this during the Brave1 Precision hackathon, Suspilne reports.

“We have quite large production capacities, we can produce more than 3 million drones of various types today. To do this, we need funding,” Hvozdiar said.

The Deputy Minister shared that the state can cover only part of these needs, while foreign partners cover the rest.

In particular, Canada has agreed to purchase some Ukrainian-made drones for the Ukrainian army, and negotiations are ongoing with other countries, including the United Kingdom.

“We have developed sufficiently through both state and private capacities in terms of various types of products for drones. With more than a million drones, it is clear that they need more than a million pieces of ammunition,” Hvozdiar said.

The Ministry of Strategic Industry is currently working on a line of drones with ammunition that the Ukrainian army needs. The issue of their unification will be discussed next.

Development of drones in Ukraine

Militarnyi previously reported that the Ukrainian company Swarmer is developing an artificial intelligence-based technology that will allow several dozen drones to be connected to a single network under the control of a single pilot.

Styx is designed to control reconnaissance and strike drones. These can be aircraft or ground drones of various ranges.

Such a system would increase the scale of drone use. Within its framework, each copter will be able to plan its own actions and predict the behavior of others in the swarm.

On July 16, it was reported that the Ukrainian company Wild Hornets presented a Queen Hornets multifunctional unmanned platform, which can carry up to 9.5 kilograms and is made of 65% Ukrainian components.

The drone can carry a payload weighing up to 9.5 kilograms over a distance of 5 kilometers or a lighter 6-kilogram load over 17 kilometers. At the same time, one drone costs only $1,000.
