New type of attack drone shot down in the Kyiv region
During another Russian missile attack on July 20, air defense units of the Kyiv region shot down a new type of Russian attack drone.
The relevant photos were published on the War_home Telegram channel.
The new drone, unlike other Russian attack drones, has a slightly different design.
Thus, the published photos show that it is built according to a standard aerodynamic scheme, and the twin tail boom.
It should be noted that due to the lack of more detailed photos, the drone can also be built according to the canard aerodynamic scheme.
A closer look at the drone reveals a two-stroke internal combustion engine from the Chinese DLE.
Inside, a Russian Kometa antenna was spotted, and in the nose, there is a compartment for a payload, which may consist of an explosive or a charge.
It is not yet clear who manufactures this type of drone, but according to Western media, in 2024, Russia began conducting joint research with China to develop a new low-cost attack drone.
According to the network, the drone could have been used by the Russians to conduct so-called “combat tests.”
In addition, they add that the Russians tested a new Chinese-made Mugin drone in the same way.
Militarnyi previously reported that Ukrainian developers demonstrated flight tests of a jet drone designed to intercept air targets.
According to published information, the Bullet unmanned aerial vehicle system is designed specifically to combat enemy reconnaissance and attack drones and helicopters.
