NGU Liut Brigade armed with Oncilla armored vehicles
Oncilla armored personnel carriers were put in service with the Liut (Rage – ed.) Brigade of the National Guard.
The Brigade reported that the transporter was suitable for attacking enemy positions.
“It is equipped with a heavy machine gun suitable for assault positions. It also has thermal imagers that benefit the driver and passengers,” the soldiers shared.
The Oncilla armored fighting vehicle is a licensed version of a Ukrainian-designed armored vehicle called Dozor-B, produced by the Polish company Mista.
Oncilla can be equipped with a light remote weapon station with a heavy machine gun or a conventional turret for machine guns.
Information on the sale of a license to produce a Dozor-B armored vehicle to the Polish company Mista was first announced in 2013.
In the same year, a variant of Dozor-B called Oncilla was presented at the MSPO-2013 arms exhibition in Poland.
The first Oncilla armored vehicle was assembled at the Kyiv Armored Plant, and later, production would take place in Poland.
In 2016, information that the Polish variant was being tested in Ukraine was released, but all details about their results were classified.
In February 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine announced information about the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces in 2019, which included Oncilla combat vehicles.
At the Egypt Defense Expo in 2022, the Ukrainian Design Bureau “Beryl,” together with Mista, presented a new modification of the Oncilla APC.
In March last year, the upgraded Oncilla armored personnel carrier was transferred to the Defence Intelligence of Defense of Ukraine.
