Odesa City Council handed over 61 boats to Territorial Defense Forces

The military units of the Territorial Defense Forces of Armed Forces of Ukraine were reinforced with watercraft.

Sixty-one boats of various modifications were handed over by the Odesa community to units subordinated to the Territorial Defense Forces Operational Command South.

The boats are handed over by the army along with the carriages for their transportation.

According to the press service of the Odesa City Council, these boats are available in three modifications: 52 aluminum boats with a two-stroke engine, 4 cargo boats made of pressed plastic.

As well as 5 inflatable high-speed boats that do not tip over, on which a turret for mounting a machine gun is installed.

The total value of the transferred equipment is UAH 44.5 million.

These boats will significantly strengthen the capabilities of Ukrainian troops in the south of our country.

According to the city council, in 2023, more than UAH 1.2 billion was allocated from the Odesa budget to help the military of Ukrainian Defense Forces.

In October, TIS Group at Pivdennyi Port allocated $400,000 to create additional mobile air defense teams for Odesa.

The Hungarian owner of the TIS Group, Alexey Fedorychev, allocated half of the amount to strengthen the region’s air defense capabilities.

The purchased equipment is transferred to units of Armed Forces of Ukraine that have requested it.

For security reasons, it is not disclosed how much equipment is purchased for mobile air defense teams with these funds.
