Oshkosh M-ATV armored vehicles arrive to Ukraine

The Ukrainian army receives Oshkosh M-ATV MRAP armored vehicles.

The military is increasingly showcasing photos of these vehicles on social media.

It is worth noting that before this, there were no official reports from the United States about the possible transfer of this type of armored vehicles to the Ukrainian military.

However, the United States announced that it planned to transfer unspecified MRAP vehicles to Ukraine.

For the most part, these armored vehicles have a large ground clearance, a V-shaped hull, which provide shock absorption, protecting the crew from a shock blast wave.

These are the transferred Oshkosh M-ATV MRAP armored vehicles that are currently in service with the US Army and a number of other countries.

The crew of the vehicle usually consists of five people. One of them operates a weapon, which can be placed on the top of an armored vehicle.

This may be a machine gun rotary turret on which a 7.62mm machine gun, 40mm grenade launcher or Browning M2 12.7mm heavy machine gun can be mounted.

Besides, the armored vehicle can be equipped with a remotely controlled combat module.

The vehicle has a V-shaped hull with its cabin accommodating specially designed seats, which provide shock absorption, protecting the crew from a shock blast wave.

The armored vehicle can develop a speed of up to 105 km/h on the highway.

As previously reported, this year Oshkosh Defense received an order from the US Army Contracting Department for the supply of light tactical armored vehicles JLTV (Joint Light Tactical Vehicle).
