Osint researchers found out that as a result of a missile attack on an airfield near the occupied Luhansk, the Russian Nebo-M radar was hit.

The attack on the Russian military facility took place on the evening of May 27.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine used ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles with a cluster warhead.

At the time of the strike, it was not known exactly what was hit, but a video that was shared online recorded a large area covered by numerous pockets of fire.

Analysts of the Kiber_boroshno Telegram channel analyzed images of the Luhansk airfield for May 28.

They concluded that as a result of the missile strike, the components of the 55Zh6M Nebo-M multifunctional mobile radar, namely the RLM-M and RLM-D radars, were allegedly damaged.

It is worth noting that the degree of damage to Russian equipment is currently unknown. At the same time, it should be noted that when using cluster submunitions, the equipment does not always burn out. At the same time, the debris causes significant damage to the equipment inside, and also affects the military who operate it.

Nebo-M

It is stated that the Nebo-M radar is designed to detect aerodynamic and ballistic targets at medium and high altitudes in the interests of air and missile defense.

The system includes autonomous radars of different ranges, which operate in interaction.

The tasks of search and tracking of air targets are divided between the VHF and UHF acquisition radar – RLM-M and the radar of the L-band and X-band – RLM-D and RLM-S, respectively. Each of them is placed on a separate truck chassis.

ATACMS

With the advent of more American ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to strike regularly at the military facilities of the Russian invaders in Luhansk.

In particular, late in the evening, May 7, an oil depot was hit, which was used by the invaders.
