Phoenix Ghost drones, which are a part of the new package of military aid to Ukraine, are most likely kamikaze drones.

Militarnyi informs about this with reference to the Voice of America.

The Pentagon claimed that the drones were developed to attack the targets and are destroyed after a single use. John Kirby, the Pentagon spokesman, stated that the training to use Phoenix Ghost would be similar to the Switchblade that is already mastered and acquired by the Ukrainian military.

Kirby also noted that the technical specifications of the new drones “very closely match what the Ukrainians need right now in Donbas.” The Pentagon explained that they are well suited to the Donbas flat terrains.

Brian Everstein, Aviation Week editor, tweeted that the drone was developed by AEVEX Aerospace in collaboration with the United States Air Force. The company’s website does not yet have any information about the drone. It was probably created recently.

On April 21, Joe Biden had announced a new package of military aid to Ukraine.

It will be including 121 Phoenix Ghost drones.
