Poland will delegate a new group of its experts to assist the Ukrainian law enforcement officers with recording Russian war crimes.

The Prosecutor General’s Office reported on this.

Andriy Kostin, Prosecutor General of Ukraine, and Zbigniew Ziobro, Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General of Poland, agreed on this new mission of the Polish specialists during their meeting in Warsaw.

Poland, together with Lithuania, became a co-founder of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), which is supposed to investigate crimes of aggression and other war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.

Andriy Kostin expressed gratitude for the work of the mission experts from Poland, who for ten days have been working together with their Ukrainian counterparts on investigating the war crimes in Borodianka, Kyiv, and Mykolaiv.

Mr. Zbigniew Ziobro emphasized that the Polish side is closely monitoring everything that is happening in Ukraine. He also assured of Poland’s readiness to implement all the initiatives and support Ukraine both at the national level within the country and in the international arena.

According to him, the disclosure of crimes and the prosecution of the guilty will also serve a preventive purpose so that in the future, there would be significantly less people willing to commit international crimes.

The parties also discussed the need to create a Special International Tribunal to prosecute the top leadership of the Russian Federation for crimes of aggression.

The help for Ukraine in documenting the crimes committed by the Russian military comes not only from neighboring states. A week ago, a mission of French specialists arrived in Kyiv. Together with their Ukrainian counterparts, they will work in the de-occupied territories of the Kharkiv region.

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, as of October 4, more than 50,000 war crimes and crimes against national security were documented in Ukraine.

According to official data from juvenile prosecutors, 1,204 children were injured in Ukraine as a result of the armed invasion of the Russian Federation. Among them, 418 children died, and 786 were wounded.
