Russia Announces Strategic Partnership With Iran

Russia World Іран

Russia and Iran are close to signing an updated agreement on bilateral strategic partnership.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the agreement will confirm the parties’ desire for closer cooperation in the defense sector.

The agreement will be a serious factor in strengthening Russian-Iranian relations: the Russian official stressed that the agreement emphasizes strengthening ties between Russia and Iran at the global level.

The bilateral military cooperation between Moscow and Tehran is a matter of deep concern in the West, and in Israel.

The agreement comes as Iran aids Russia in its war against Ukraine, supports terrorist groups, and threatens Israel with a potential third missile strike.

Another state with which Russia has been strengthening cooperation in recent years is the DPRK.

The North Korean regime has sent thousands of soldiers to war against Ukraine.

The West suspects that Pyongyang gained access to Russian military technologies in return.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently stated that achieving peace in Ukraine requires ending Russia’s military cooperation with Iran, North Korea, and China.

It is the supply of weapons and equipment from these countries that fuels the Russian war machine.

Iran supplies attack drones to Russia, has built a plant for their production in Russia, and has transferred hundreds of short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.

Official Tehran has not commented on the transfer of ballistic missiles to Russia.
