Russian IFV Converted to APC Destroyed by Ukrainian Forces in Avdiivka
The defense forces of Ukraine hit a Russian IFV, which was converted into an APC.
The corresponding photo was published on “X” social media.
The destroyed Russian armored vehicle was shown by military personnel from the “Shadow” unit of the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Mainly, the squad compartment was expanded on the IFV to accommodate more troops.
In addition, the gun turret was removed from the vehicle, allowing for an increase in the height of the sides and the inclusion of view slits.
Judging by the scattered sheets of metal around the IFV, the conversion likely included a closed roof, offering minimal protection against dropped munitions and FPV drones.
This is not the first instance of the Russians converting their combat vehicles into armored personnel carriers with greater infantry capacity.
This practice is driven by the insufficient number of armored vehicles, as the enemy loses a significant quantity each month.
In addition, Russian tanks, which are converted to transport infantry, can also be seen more and more often at the front.
Due to poor engineering training, organization, and coordination of actions, the enemy in most assaults loses from 80 to 100% of the armored vehicles that participate in them.
Previously, Militarnyi reported that the Ukrainian military destroyed a rare Russian RBU-6000 MRL based on a truck.
Due to the lack of artillery systems on the front line, the Russians began to install naval weapons on land-based equipment.
