Russian military aviation have arrived in Belarus.

This is allegedly related to the conduct of joint flight and tactical training with the aviation units of the armed forces of Belarus and Russia as part of the aviation component of the joint regional grouping of troops (forces).

According to the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, the training will commence on January 16 and last until February 1 this year.

It is reported that the aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces arrived at the airfields of the Republic of Belarus on January 8.

All airfields, as well as training grounds of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces of the country will be involved in the joint flight and tactical exercises.

Besides, according to the Belarusian Gayun monitoring group, Russia has transferred 9 helicopters to Belarus.

According to their information, Mi-8 and Mi-24 helicopters arrived at the Machulishchy military air base.

The monitoring group links the arrival of the helicopters with the future joint flight and tactical training of Russians and Belarusians.

According to Belarusian Gayun monitoring group, Russian military aircraft will continue arriving at Belarusian airfields in the period from January 8 to 12.

The Russians will be based at the Machulishchy and Baranovichi military air bases. However, Lida, Luninets and Babruysk air bases may also be involved.

In addition to warplanes and helicopters, the Russians are increasing the number of personnel of their military on the territory of Belarus. In particular, on January 6 and 7, two echelons with at least 1,400-1,600 Russian military personnel arrived in Belarus.

According to the available information of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, a significant amount of weapons and military equipment arriving for the training of enemy personnel in the Republic of Belarus from the Russian Federation has been removed from long-term storage and requires maintenance. It is also known that Belarusian servicemen are involved in the work on this equipment.
