Russians attacked a large cargo ship carrying grain to Egypt.

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reported this.

The ship was reportedly attacked immediately after leaving Ukrainian territorial waters. According to preliminary reports, there were no casualties.

“Ukraine is one of the key global contributors to food security. Internal stability and the lives of dozens of countries in different parts of the world depend on the normal and unhindered operation of our export food corridor,” the statement reads.

Zelensky emphasizes that the supply of Ukrainian food to Africa and the Middle East is critically important.

“We will continue to do everything to protect our ports, our Black Sea, and food supplies to the global market. This is a real priority for Ukraine – the protection of life, and it should be a priority for every country,” Zelensky said.

The President noted that Ukraine is waiting for the world’s reaction, and wheat and food security should never be a missile target.

On September 1, Militarnyi reported that on the night of August 31-September 1, Russians fired Iskander missiles at farm equipment that was mistaken as a military convoy.

According to the investigation, on August 31, 2024, at about 8:30 p.m., the Russians launched a missile attack on a convoy of grain trucks.

The convoy of farmers was on the Sumy-Kharkiv highway near the village of Verkhnia Syrovatka, Sumy district.

As a result, one truck was on fire, and about 20 vehicles were damaged.
