The Charity Foundation of Serhiy Prytula announced a fundraising campaign to purchase 50 Spartan armored personnel carriers.

On November 2-8, they plan to collect 200 million hryvnias. The Foundation made this announcement on its social media.

Prytula emphasized that the Ukrainian military requires tracked vehicles, particularly during the autumn-winter season, because they have stronger cross-country capability.

“Everything that is armored and on tracks should be with us,” Serhiy Prytula said.

Prytula also showed a video with the vehicles that the fund is going to purchase.

These are British Spartan armored personnel carriers.

“We have just tested them, they are in very good condition, and there are many, many of them,” Prytula emphasized.

The FV103 Spartan is a tracked armored personnel carrier that entered British Army service in 1978. It was developed as an APC version of the Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance family.

The vehicle can carry up to seven servicemen, including three crew members. It is armed with a single 7.62 mm machine gun.

The Spartan’s weight is 10 tons. It is equipped with a Jaguar 4.2 xk petrol engine, can reach a speed of up to 96 km/h, and has a range of 510 kilometers. In total, almost 1,000 units were produced.

In April, it was reported that Great Britain was transferring 120 armored vehicles to Ukraine, 80 of which were to be Mastiff, Husky, and Wolfhound armored vehicles.

The other 40 vehicles were to be used for combat reconnaissance. Those include the Spartan, which can transport up to four soldiers plus a crew of three, Samaritan ambulances, Sultan armored command vehicles, and Samson armored recovery vehicles.
