Soldiers of the Air Assault Forces are actively using the Western weapons received from the partners. This time, they showed the use of the 105mm L119 howitzer.

This weapon is used, in particular, in the Kherson region.

The servicemen spoke on the advantages of light howitzers. They mentioned that this equipment is primarily light compared to the D-30 howitzers. It is also proven to be more mobile, faster in deployment, more accurate, and have lighter shells. Another advantage is the transportation process.

“Smallest equipment is needed for their transportation. It may even be an SUV able to tow it, and it will be less visible and make less noise,” the soldier mentioned.

The information about the use of these light howitzers by the Ukrainian military first appeared in late July. At the same time, it was reported that Ukraine would be receiving 36,000 105 mm rounds from the United States.

L119 fires with all standard NATO 105 mm semi-fixed cartridges, as well as with special rocket-assisted shells. Depending on the ammunition, the maximum firing range can be from 11,500 to 19,000 meters.
