Сountermeasures against new types of weapons of the Russian Federation discussed at a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky held a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

He announced this in his Telegram channel.

Those present received the reports from intelligence, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the commanders of the operational directions about the situation at the frontline.

They also discussed the issue of stabilizing the situation in the newly deoccupied areas along with plans regarding further liberation of the Ukrainian territories.

Separately, they discussed the issue of countering new types of weapons used by the Russian military and the preparation of the Ukrainian army for the winter period.

As previously reported, during the night, the Russians struck Ukraine using the “Shahed-136” kamikaze drones. Six enemy drones attacked Bila Tserkva in the Kyiv region.

“At night, the enemy struck Bila Tserkva with Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. A total of six hits and explosions. One person was wounded. The infrastructure was also damaged,” Oleksiy Kuleba, Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, said.

The Air Force Command also reported the destruction of six “Shahed-136” drones in the south of Ukraine.

Shahed-136 UAV is a loitering munition, which was renamed Geran-2 by the Russians. It is not known when exactly Russia started using these kamikaze drones in the war with Ukraine. Information about the first downed Iranian UAV on the territory of Ukraine was released in mid-September.

The UAV has a loud MD 550 or 3W engine, so the kamikaze drone can be heard kilometers away. The weight of its combat unit is 40-50 kilograms.

The drone can be destroyed by any means of air defense and is detectable by radars. Iran manufactures these UAVs for mass use for one or multiple purposes.
