Special forces seized Russian portable radar “Fara”
Ukrainian Special Operations Forces operators took the Russian portable radar station “Fara” as a trophy.
The Militarnyi informs about it.
The Special Operations Forces Command announced today, March 17, that Ukrainian special forces had seized an enemy special portable radar.
Another trophy of Special Operations Forces operators of Ukraine is the Russian radar “Fara”. This portable radar station is designed for reconnaissance, detection of people and equipment, aiming and adjusting fire on identified targets. However, all these characteristics did not prevent our soldiers from getting close to the enemy and replenishing the already considerable list of trophies,” the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
Portable radar station “Fara” is designed for radar surveillance, reconnaissance and identification of targets, as well as guidance on the identified targets of various means of destruction – machine guns, grenade launchers and others.
Its task is to identify moving equipment and enemy manpower at any time of day and year, even in the absence of optical visibility (in fog, smoke, dust, in atmospheric precipitation).
The system should ensure effective defeat of targets in conditions of poor optical visibility.
The complex additionally includes: a compass, a box for stacking, a polarizer and a specialized mount for attaching the antenna to weapons (different for aiming machine guns, grenade launchers, guns or for mounting on surveillance devices).
